New York State Police troopers stopped a 2006 Toyota Matrix at approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 1, after the driver was spotted committing a vehicle and traffic law violation in Dutchess County.
According to police, during the subsequent traffic stop in Milan, troopers reported that there was a smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Further investigation determined that it was determined that the vehicle’s occupants, Brooklyn residents Tony Wu, 25, and Richard Huang, 20, were in possession of more than 25 pounds of marijuana, which was packaged in more than a dozen vacuum-sealed packs.
Both Wu and Huang were arrested at the scene and charged with a felony count of first-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Following arraignment, both men were remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. They are due back in the Town of Milan Court on July 5 to answer the charges against them.
